Reuben D’Silva was born in Mumbai, India, and raised in Las Vegas after his family immigrated when he was a child.
A proud graduate of Rancho High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 2004, serving in Iraq, where he was wounded in combat and awarded the Purple Heart and Navy Achievement Medal.
Following his recovery, Reuben earned degrees from the College of Southern Nevada, UNLV, the University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University—building a foundation of discipline and compassion that guides his public service today.
He now represents Nevada Assembly District 28, advocating for education, economic opportunity, and veteran support.
Community Connection
For more than a decade, Reuben has served as a history teacher at Rancho High School, mentoring young Nevadans to think critically about their communities and futures.His journey from immigrant student to state legislator is a story rooted in Las Vegas grit and gratitude.
